Go to this!

I went last year, and it was awesome. Really quite amazing, and very pretty. Be prepared for it to be hot though. You'd be amazed at what heat 10,000 tiny little flames do to the temperature of area.

Takasaki Baykui Kannon Candle Festival

Does this festival still exist? I read on some other website that it would fall on July 27th but I can't seem to find that website anymore nor can I find any information for the 2010 year. Anyone have any word on it?

Seems to still be around

I asked someone who works at Kannon-yama and it looks like the festival will be held on the 4th Saturday in August; August 28th this year.
