SIGN UP DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 10th, 2009!!!

*Volunteer Trip to The Philippines!*
Join Green Empowerment and AIDFI (Alternative Indigenous Development
Foundation) on a *volunteer tour to The Philippines this Golden Week*. Green
Empowerment is an NGO that partners with rural communities in seven
different countries to implement renewable energy and water systems that
alleviate poverty and preserve the environment. Mostly this takes the form
of solar, wind and hydro-electricity projects. Green Empowerment emphasizes
local involvement and leadership, enabling communities to take control of
their own projects.
During the tour we will work side-by-side with AIDFI and community members
to complete service projects, such as planting fruit trees, establishing
vegetable gardens, and/or install biogas digesters. We will also meet with
community leaders to talk about local entrepreneurship and renewable energy
projects.
There will also be time to relax on the beach or get on a bike and tour the
beautiful countryside.

This tour is especially for JETs and people in the JET community. We will
be doing fundraising before the trip to allay some of the trip costs.
