Oxford Books Sticker Project

Event Information:

On Friday almost everyone will be coming to the kencho for the Summer Conference. We know it'll feel like a long day fopr some, but we are hoping that you can spare a little bit of time afterwards to help us out.

Last Friday Gunma received 20,000 English readers from Oxford University Press to be distributed and used in Gunma's schools. We are currently planning to hold a book fair during summer vacation to encourage teachers to make use of these books to enhance their English classes. But, before any of that can be done, we need your help.

On each book we have to place a sticker detailing how we got the books and that they are not to be sold. It is a big job, but a small price to pay for 20,000 books. So, the GAJET Council and I are hoping that those coming to the kencho can donate some of their time after the meeting on Friday. If you can help out for even just 30 minutes or an hour it will make a big difference in finishing this project.

So, if there are other JETs you want to catch up with, why don't you grab a chair, chat for a while, and lend a hand by putting stickers on books headed to your schools.

Thanks for reading and thanks for any help you can give us!

it's for your students!

This is such a wonderful opportunity for Gunma JETs to come together and give back to their schools. This donation has been made possible by some very generous people at Oxford and some hardworking people in Gunma (thanks Jen and Brent.)

Each of your schools will be getting a set of books. How great would it be to be able to tell your schools, "I got these books for our students!"

Not only will this short amount of your time reflect well on you, but also on Gunma JETs and the JET Program as a whole.

After stickering a box of books, think of how satisfying the drinks/food will be afterward. :)

A million thanks in advance!
