Know where to get rid of old appliances?Submitted by Anonymous on Wed, 2009/08/19 - 22:09.
Does anyone know where/how to get rid of old appliances? I have a broken TV to get rid of, and my village won't take out things like that. If anyone has any ideas I'd appreciate it! Rebecca |

If the "let's throw it in the Tone" choice does't suit you...
Yamada denki offer this kind of service, but they charge something between 3000 and 5000 yen for it.
Yo,
Dario
Don't know where in Gunma you live but...
There's a guy in Kiryu who will gladly take anything like this off your hands for free, regardless of size or condition. He's able to sell them to people in China for actual money even if they're broken. He doesn't know what they want them for either.
LOL. Do what the Japanese
LOL.
Do what the Japanese do.
Take them to your nearest mountain pass and toss it out on the road site. No seriously, when I bike up those routes, I see so many old TVs and fridges on the sides of the road.
But no, go with Dermot's suggestion. 3000-5000 yen is too much.
But... Hmmm... I think that Hard-off might take it. They might even give you 100-500 yen for the junk.
thanks for the replies!

When you drive down the street and see all those mom and pop Panisonic/electronic stores with all the broken TVs and refrigerators stacked outside that have been there forever... swing by at night some time, help them out and make a little addition to their collection.
