Hair Salons

I moved to Ota in April, but I have not had to get my hair cut yet. I was wondering if anyone knew of somewhere to do this that won't cost me too much. I looked on the main street in Ota, but I only found a men's hair salon and one that was 5,000yen for just the haircut. O_o;; I was also wondering whether any salons had employees who were familiar with cutting non-Asian hair. Any thoughts or experiences would help me a bunch. Thanks!

I am not sure they have employees who are familiar with non-Asian hair. Please try onece at least. It won't be a disaster I guess.

Ash in Kiryu

If you don't mind a trip to Kiryu, you should check out Ash. My stylist spent a year and a half working in salons in Vancouver and Toronto so he has had lots of experience with non-Asian hair.Plus he speaks fantastic English! If you tell him what you want, he'll do exactly that. It's really great! I'm always happy with my cut. And everyone at the salon is super nice and really chill.o(^-^)o

It is about 4800\ for a shampoo and cut. That seems to be the average price around Kiryu for a decent cut.
