The AJET PEPY Special Interest Group is now in the planning stages of our next national fundraising event, The PEPY Ride Japan. The event sees teams of JETs and their friends participating in bike rides in their prefectures while raising funds for and awareness of the NGO PEPY (www.pepyride.org)which works to promote access to education in rural Cambodia. The rides range from leisurely one day events including BBQs and picnics, to overnight treks of distances up to 140km, depending on the choice of the team leader. The main aim of the event is to have lots of people out and about, discovering their prefecture, learning about PEPY, respecting the environment, and generally just having a fun day out. Responses from past participants have always been positive and we hope that this event will be just as successful as those in the past.

We plan to hold the next event on the weekend of April 17th/18th (though the date is flexible to some degree) and are currently looking for team leaders to take on the challenge of organising a ride in their prefecture. This isn't as tricky as it sounds and we will provide support and advice throughout the process!
