Haiti Donating at your School: 15mins of your timeSubmitted by minofachino on Tue, 2010/02/09 - 17:05.
It’s easy to make a difference, and it's not too late. My JTE and I just went to the bank to send the money that we collected for the people of Haiti. We collected over 15305 en from teachers! I challenge your school to beat this! If 4 other ALTs do this, that’s $500 dollars. 9 ALTs that’s 1000 dollars. Even if a few teachers donate, you’re spreading international awareness. It will take you less than 10min to organize this and it will be more than worth it: When you go to the bank, you need to use a furikomi or you can fill out a bank slip. I’ll attach a picture of the bank slip identifying what information you need to have. The flyer has the bank information on it to donate, but it’s lacking the the bank account type: It’s a normal bank account. That means it’s a 普通 ふつう (futsuu). I’m working on getting students involved to: I have a flyer system every week with students—I give each class a flyer and they post it in their classrooms each week. Here’s an already made flyer that you can post in classrooms or your bulletin board. My JTE said to me that some students are thinking about what they can do. People are happy to help when you give the opportunity: give them this chance. Chris

It's good to hear that many
It's good to hear that many are willing to help and are continuously supporting by giving their donations to the victims of Haiti. I hope many large corporations or companies will be able to to extend their support by giving donations to them so that they will be able to eat, be assisted on their medical needs and services.
