Saboth Flow Live: ELECTRIC!!!Submitted by Brigg Sabol on Wed, 2010/02/10 - 18:09.
2010/02/28 - 15:00 2010/02/28 - 19:00 Event Information: Sunday, February 28th Saboth Flow has been asked to play DARE☆CON Presented by DUSTBOWL Takasaki. We will be 1 of 4 (or 5) bands playing. Doors open at 3, first band starts at 3:30 (We'll find out when we go on the day of the show) Tix: Pre-sale 800Y+drink : Door 1000Y+drink We're going electric! Yep, for a while Mike and I (Brigg) have been playing around with the idea of taking the Saboth Flow acoustic phenomenon and turning it into the Saboth Flow electric phenomenon. We've recruited our good friends Galen Yacalis on drums and Mark Draper to beef up the guitars. So for this show, we're going on as a 4 piece, electric, full on rock & roll band! This one is DEFINITELY going to rock! So what are we looking at here? Refuge is a live house on the top floor of the Dustbowl music store in Takasaki. It's about a 5 minute walk from the station (I'll post a link/map). The show is a Sunday late afternoon /evening gig. At first glance an afternoon show may seem kinda like a bust, but upon further inspection it's gonna be a pretty sweet deal. It's cheap (usually shows are about 1500Y-2000Y), you can drink some afternoon beers, you get to see 4-5 local bands (including the new and improved Saboth Flow!) and the whole thing'll be over in time so you can grab dinner in Takasaki and/or catch the train and be home at a reasonable hour so you won't be haggard for work the next day. Even if we weren't playing, in my opinion, it's a perfect ending for the weekend. So unless you have something against live music, Saboth Flow or fun in general, there's no excuse to miss out on this one;-) A word about tickets: This is the part that I hate the most. You may or may not know, but sort of the way live music in Japan works (for the bands) is that each band is responsible for selling X amount of tickets for the show. Saboth Flow, at this gig, is no exception. You can buy them from anyone of us and we can either try and get them to you or meet you out in front of the Dustbowl the day of the show and do the transaction there. Message us. Like I mentioned above, they ARE cheaper if you get them early from the band (800Y+drink vs. 1000Y+drink if you buy them at the door the day of the gig). So let us know if you definitely are going so we can figure out how many more tickets we need to sell (or hopefully if we need to go and get more!) For whatever it's worth, my wife even has to buy a ticket, which of course, I'm going to end up paying for. If it was up to us, we'd let everyone in for free. Cool. Hopefully we'll see you at the show! Event Location: Refuge: Dustbowl Takasaki Event Directions: About a 5 minute walk from Takasaki station |
