Thinking about getting a manual car

Hey guys,

I'm going to buy a car pretty soon, and I have a choice between a manual and an automatic. I haven't driven a manual before, and I would have to learn how to drive it. I would also have to take the Japanese driver license test for a manual car.

What I wanted to know is if it the driving test would be practically impossible for a person like me with a little manual driving experiecne by August (when my International Driver's license permit is up).

Has anyone taken the manual driving test? Please tell me more info!

look passing the test is not

look passing the test is not about how you drive, but how you follow the choreography.

the fact that you survived this long without a car means if ur international license expires it won't be the end of the world... it comes down to how quickly you pick up clutch control... it took me 2 weeks when I was a kid back home, it takes some 2 days... once you know it, it becomes natural (in fact driving autos seems un-natural to me) and as far as driving goes it is more rewarding.

If you want to get the manual, I will take you for a few practise runs and then its just some street driving till it falls into place get it now, expect full control in a month.. then you go to driving school a few times to learn the course, and start on the test... once every 2 weeks till you get it.

I say go for the manual and learn. it is a vital skill if you want to see the more interesting parts of the world... you cannot drive autos in REAL offroad situations... like Africa.
