Hey everybody, I've been told one can drive to Hokkaido via ferry. I wanted to see if anyone had actually done this and how much it cost to have the car ferried. If you know of a website where I can find how much it costs and/or the schedule of the ferry please let me know. peace, Fitz |

The closest ferry port looks to be in Niigata.

driving to Hokkaido
The usual route to drive to Hokkaido is to head to Aomori City from where you can take the Seikan Ferry to Hakodate. The ferry is about 16000 yen (17500 in autumn) one way (there's a 10% roundtrip discount) for the typical car, plus 1650 yen per passenger. Here's the ferry website:
