Traveling in Thailand and Cambodia

Hey folks,

I'll be going to Thailand and Cambodia for the holidays. I'll be spending 4 nights in Bangkok, 2 nights in Phuket (and will welcome the new year here), 2 days in Phnom Pehn Cambodia and 2 days in Siem Reap/Angkor Wat area of Cambodia.

Does anyone have any "must see" recommendations for Bangkok, Phuket and/or Phnom Pehn? Also, any dishes you recommend? (mild spicy preferable kudasai..haha)..

Thanks,

Fitz

I went during golden week.

I went during golden week. We didn't see Phuket, but we went everywhere else, and if you are into shopping, there is a great shopping mall called MBK in Bangkok. It is on the skytrain/tram route so it shouldn't be too hard to find. The stop was Siam I think, or around there. You will get really good deals there, and if you aren't a fan of bargaining, the stuff is already cheap to begin with so you know you aren't being ripped off completely. At night there are stalls outside in the area with great stuff as well.

And if you are going to Siem Reap and have ANY time or can make some, I 10000% recommend hitting Beng Mealea temple. It is a bit of a drive, but it was my absolute favorite of the whole lot of them!

Hope that helps :) Have fun!
