So now that I can see who else is online at the same time as me, I feel like talking to them and seeing how they are, but there really isn't a good way to do it right now. Do other people feel the same way? Should I look into solutions? |

It would be nice. But the only way I could see it happening would be with a sort of private message system, which is a whole new can of worms.
Or if people just turn on their contact form, you could just email them. But that's so low-tech. ;)

I actually can put in a really crappy chat box. Just simple java script. Ugly, but it would work.

Didn't think about that. But it probably wouldn't work over the proxies if it doesn't use port 80. Something to test.
And I'll keep thinking, there might be something... else...

I'm talking about really crappy. Like a box that uses javascript to enter what people say into a mysql table, and then refreshing everyone's box. Or maybe I could use a little Flash too to make the refresh a little more bearable.

Ah, that would work. If you can do it in flash, that'd be classy. But yeah, just throwing it in a mysql would work. Hell, you could just have a "Recent chat" in bottom of the who's online box. Then when I update just any ol' page, I see what you guys may have said. Although, that's even crappier. Sorry, not super helpful. ;)
